Overview

CLOUD-MANAGED ACCESS SWITCHES

Cisco Meraki MS125 switches provide Layer 2 access switching ideal for branch and campus deployments. The MS125 series features a variety of power options designed to meet the diverse needs of large enterprise networks.

Cisco Meraki switches are built from the ground up for cloud management without compromising any of the power and
flexibility traditionally found in enterprise-class switches.

All Cisco Meraki switches are managed through an elegant, intuitive cloud interface, rather than a cryptic command line.

To bring up a Meraki switch, simply plug it in. Meraki switches do not require CLI for switch configuration or port management.

Meraki’s centralized management platform gives administrators granular visibility into their network. Our dashboard helps you keep track of every configuration change in your network with our detailed event and change logs.

INDUSTRY LEADING CLOUD MANAGEMENT

Cloud management has a number of benefits that make it easier to build networks large and small

At-a-glance

  • Automatic email alerts from power loss, downtime, excessive Layer 1 errors, or configuration changes

  • Firmware upgrades and enhancements from the Meraki cloud

  • Incredible network transparency with application, operating system, client, and hostname visibility

  • Powerful remote diagnostic tools such as packet capture to help isolate and troubleshoot network issues

  • Role-based administration

  • Virtual Stacking enables switch port configuration changes on the dashboard interface without the need to physically stack switches

  • Zero-touch provisioning for rapid deployment across sites

Data transmission
Jumbo frames support:
Yes
Switching capacity:The data transfer capacity of the switch per second.
176 Gbit/s
MAC address table:The MAC address is the 'Media Access Control Address'. It is a unique address given to a network interface controller (NIC) in a device. A MAC address table shows the addresses in a table format.
32000 entries

Design
Product colour:
Grey
Form factor:The shape or design of the product.

Management features
System event log:
Yes
Web-based management:Using a website/web application to manage something.
Yes
Quality of Service (QoS) support:
Yes
Switch layer:A network switch is a computer networking device that links networking segments. A switch has different layers, such as layer 2 (a network bridge, operating at the data link layer, interconnecting a small number of devices) and layer 4 (can act as a firewall, amongst other things).
L2
Switch type:What switch device has, managed or unmanaged.
Managed

Multicast features
Multicast support:
Yes

Network
VLAN support:A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) consists of a group of computers and switches that can be physically distributed over different networks and buildings, but form one LAN on a logical level.
Yes
Auto MDI/MDI-X:A Medium Dependent Interface (MDI) describes the interface (both physical and electrical) in a computer network from a physical layer implementation to the physical medium used to carry the transmission. Ethernet over twisted pair also defines a medium dependent interface crossover (MDIX) interface. Auto-MDIX ports on newer network interfaces detect if the connection would require a crossover, and automatically chooses the MDI or MDIX configuration to properly match the other end of the link.
Yes
Broadcast storm control:
Yes
Flow control support:
Yes
Link aggregation:
Yes
Spanning tree protocol:
Yes
Port mirroring:
Yes
Networking standards:The way in which the network is working, e.g. IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g.
IEEE 802.1D, IEEE 802.1Q, IEEE 802.1ab, IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1w, IEEE 802.1x, IEEE 802.3ad
