Overview

Deploy 3D Graphical Workstations and High-user Density VDI Applications on One Platform.
The HPE Synergy 480 Graphics Accelerators provide a cost-effective and secure platform for demanding graphics applications such as, 3D CAD, CAE and geophysical analysis.

Virtual Client Compute workstation and desktop applications such as Microsoft Office 365, Skype for Business and Google Earth are delivered as if they were on a high-end personal computer. Multiple monitors at 4K resolution add to the enhanced experience.

By leaving the data in the data center, the risk of losing intellectual property and data is greatly reduced by sending only the image to the client, not the data.

Flexible Deployment Options for Dedicated or Virtualized Environments
HPE Synergy 480 Graphics Accelerators can be deployed either as a single mezzanine adapter or in high-density Multi-MXM or PCIe Expansion Module to the HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 Compute Modules.

The new HPE Synergy Graphics Expansion Module supports up to 4 PCIe single wide full-height full-length NVIDIA GPUs in sets of 2. This opens up a broader choice of GPUs including exciting additions such as the NVIDIA Tesla T4 and NVIDIA Quadro RTX4000.

After initial factory integration, the Multi MXM and PCIe Expansion Modules support field upgrades to add additional GPUs.

Supports bare metal Microsoft® Windows® 10 and Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® client operating systems.

Supports the HPE Synergy P416ie-m SAS Controller and the HPE D3940 Storage Module for composable storage options when you use the The HPE Synergy Graphics Expansion MXM Module.

Support for Virtualization and Virtualized GPUs
The HPE Synergy 480 Graphics Accelerators use the NVIDIA vGPU Grid hypervisor for an enhanced virtualized experiance. Supported hypervisors include VMware ESXi®, Microsoft® Hyper-V 2016®and Citrix XenServer®.

Specification

Technical Description: HPE SY 480 NVIDIA Tesla P6 GPU

Design
Form factor:The shape or design of the product.
Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM)

Memory
Bandwidth:Bandwidth is the difference between the upper and lower frequencies in a continuous set of frequencies. It is typically measured in Hertz (Hz). A key characteristic of bandwidth is that any band of a given width can carry the same amount of information, regardless of where that band is located in the frequency spectrum. For example, a 3 kHz band can carry a telephone conversation whether that band is at baseband (as in a POTS telephone line) or modulated to some higher frequency.
192.2 GHz
Graphics card memory type:
GDDR5
Discrete graphics card memory:
16 GB

Performance
TV tuner integrated:Device has an in-built TV tuner.
No

Processor
FireStream:A stream processor produced by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to use the stream processing/GPGPU (General Purpose Graphics Processing Units) concept for heavy floating-point computations to target various industries, such as the High Performance Computing (HPC), scientific, and financial sectors. Originally developed by ATI Technologies until the company was acquired by AMD in 2006, the product line was previously branded as both ATI FireStream and AMD Stream Processor.
No
CUDA cores:
2048
CUDA:CUDA (aka Compute Unified Device Architecture) is a parallel computing platform and programming model created by NVIDIA and implemented by the graphics processing units (GPUs) that they produce. CUDA gives program developers direct access to the virtual instruction set and memory of the parallel computational elements in CUDA GPUs.
Yes
Graphics processor:Also known as a graphics processing unit (GPU), this is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display. GPUs are used in embedded systems, mobile phones, personal computers, workstations, and game consoles. Modern GPUs are very efficient at manipulating computer graphics.
Tesla P6
Graphics processor family:The category to which the graphics processor (GPU) belongs e.g. Southern Islands family of Radeon processors (made by AMD), GeForce 600 (made by NVIDIA).
