Overview

The Broadcom 5720 Quad-Port Gigabit Rack Network Daughter Card (rNDC) from DellTM features quad triple-speed IEEE 802.3-compliant Media Access Controllers (MACs) with quad 10/100/1000 Ethernet transceivers (PHYs), PCI Express bus interface, and on-chip memory buffer in a single device. It is based on dual Broadcom BCM5720 Controllers each providing two ports. This network card help to improve performance and productivity by eliminating network bottlenecks in workload-intensive computing environments or connection-dense virtual machine environments.

The multiport design of Broadcom GbE adapters enables the isolation of traffic for different virtual machines or applications by routing them through different ports. The Broadcom GbE adapters leverage stateless offload such as TCP/IP checksum, TCP segmentation offload (TSO), receive side scaling (RSS), large send offload (LSO) and others designed to provide maximum flexibility and optimized performance. This product has been tested and validated on Dell Systems. This product is supported by Dell Technical Support when used with a Dell system.
