Overview

The OpticFilm 120 delivers the professional image quality results from 35mm film strips, slides, and 120/220mm film from 6x4.5cm up to 6x12cm in sizes. It is designed for professional photographers, advanced amateur photographers, film photo enthusiasts, photography schools and clubs. The OpticFilm 120 satisfies the film scanning requirements of advanced amateurs or professionals that require the ultimate in image quality and an ICC profiled scanning system. During the OpticFilm 120 development phase, LaserSoft Imaging with its more than 25 years of experience in digital imaging has significantly contributed to achieve the OpticFilm's superior quality.

Extraordinary image quality

The outstanding image quality is assured by state of the art optical and electronic systems including an 8-element glass lens with 5,300 dpi optical resolution, high-sensitive color CCD with 10,600 dpi resolution, and stable light sources. Delivering an effective usable Dynamic Range of 4,01 (with SilverFast Multi-Exposure®/ according to ISO 21550:2004) and a theoretically penetrable maximum density of 4.8, guaranteeing accurate color and all highlight and shadow details. Therefore the OF120 reaches a level that is only achieved by drum scanners so far.

Opticfilm Comparison Table

Newly designed film carriers ensure accurate imaging and efficient workflow
The OpticFilm 120 includes patent-pending, adjustable pitch 120mm film holders that ensures flat film for in-focus scans. Users do not need to cut 3-frame 6x7 120 film strips. The Opticfilm 120 also uses an automatic motorized film transport system that speeds the scanning workflow.

Elegant and Compact design

The OpticFilm 120’s metal case provides isolation and stability for the lens, CCD and automatic transport assemblies. The OpticFilm 120 is one of the most compact 120 film scanners on the market. The rear cover design reduces the scanners overall dimensions and prevents dust from entering the scanner.

Powered By LaserSoft Imaging SilverFast®

Software plays as important role as hardware to deliver a brilliant image. The OpticFilm 120 comes with the world recognized professional film scanning software, SilverFast Ai Studio 8, and it is full functionality. For example, SilverFast iSRD® helps dust and scratch removal and optimizes images. SilverFast Multi-Exposure® increases the dynamic range and reduces noises. Auto IT8 Calibration® helps color calibrating in 2 minutes and ensures correct colors. All in all, SilverFast Ai Studio 8 meets the highest standards, and these SilverFast software features are well-combined and perfectly-integrated with the OpticFilm 120.

Scanner type:A scanner is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image. Common examples found in offices are variations of the desktop (or flatbed) scanner where the document is placed on a glass window for scanning. There are different types of scanners e.g. flatbed, pen, sheet-feed.

Ports & interfaces
Standard interfaces:Most common industry-standard communication protocols ranging from RS-232, RS-422, RS-423, RS-485, and LVDS to USB.
USB 2.0
USB version:Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard developed in the mid-1990s that defines the interface used for connection, communication and power supply between computers and electronic devices. Every new version - for example 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 - is much faster than the previous one.
2.0
USB port:Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard developed in the mid-1990s that defines the cables, connectors and communications protocols used in a bus for connection, communication, and power supply between computers and electronic devices. USB was designed to standardize the connection of computer peripherals (including keyboards, pointing devices, digital cameras, printers, portable media players, disk drives and network adapters) to personal computers, both to communicate and to supply electric power. It has become commonplace on other devices, such as smartphones, PDAs and video game consoles. USB has effectively replaced a variety of earlier interfaces, such as serial and parallel ports, as well as separate power chargers for portable devices.

Current:
0.75 A
Input voltage:The voltage (V) which is required to power the product.
24 V

Scanning
Black/white scanning colour modes:
Grayscale
Film scanning:Device made for scanning photographic film directly into a computer without the use of any intermediate printmaking. It provides several benefits over using a flatbed scanner to scan in a print of any size: the photographer has direct control over cropping and aspect ratio from the original, unmolested image on film; and many film scanners have special software or hardware that removes scratches and film grain and improves color reproduction from film.
Yes
Output greyscale depth:
16 bit
Output colour depth:
48 bit
Input colour depth:Colour depth of the input into the product. The colour depth is either the number of bits used to indicate the color of a single pixel, in a bitmapped image or video frame buffer, or the number of bits used for each color component of a single pixel. High-end laptops have 24-bit colour depth.
48 bit
Duplex scanning:Feature of computer scanners and multifunction printers (MFPs) that allows the automatic scanning of a sheet of paper on both sides.
No
Colour scanning:Indicates whether this product scans in colour.
Yes
Maximum scan size:
60 x 120 mm
