RICOH

Ricoh document scanners

MoreCoCo stocks the full Ricoh scanner range, from the ScanSnap models built for home and small offices to the fi Series scanners used for high-volume work. The scanners are made by PFU, a Ricoh company, and many of them were sold under the Fujitsu name until the brand changed to Ricoh, so the hardware and software are the same ones long-standing buyers already know.

Whether you are digitising receipts at home or running invoices through a busy accounts department, you can find the right model here, open the product page for current availability and order for UK delivery. We have supplied scanners to British businesses since 2003, so if you are not sure which model fits, ask us.

Ricoh scanner questions

Common questions before you buy.

Are Ricoh scanners the same as Fujitsu scanners?

They are. Ricoh bought PFU Limited, the company that made the Fujitsu-branded document scanner range, and the scanners are now sold under the Ricoh name. The ScanSnap, fi Series and SP Series models are the same hardware and software you may know as Fujitsu scanners.

Which Ricoh scanner series should I choose?

ScanSnap suits home and small-office users who want one-button scanning. The SP Series covers everyday business scanning on a budget and connects to your network. The fi Series is the professional range for higher volumes and production work. For most small businesses starting out, the SP-2230N or SP-2240N is a sensible first choice.

What is the difference between the Ricoh SP-2230N and SP-2240N?

They share the same body, an 80-sheet feeder, LAN and USB 3.2, and the same PaperStream software. The SP-2230N scans at 30 pages per minute and is rated for 4,500 sheets a day. The SP-2240N scans at 40 pages per minute and is rated for 6,000 sheets a day. Pick the SP-2240N if your team scans more.

Do the Ricoh SP scanners need a PC to scan?

No. Using DirectScan, you press a button on the scanner to send documents to one of three preset destinations. The scanner has built-in OCR, so it can create searchable PDFs without a computer attached.

What software comes with Ricoh scanners?

SP and fi Series scanners come with the PaperStream software: PaperStream IP (the driver, with image clean-up and OCR), PaperStream Capture (for automating scan jobs) and PaperStream ClickScan (one-button scanning to the cloud). They also support TWAIN and ISIS, so they work with other capture software.

Can Ricoh scanners handle receipts, plastic cards and folded A3?

Yes. The SP-2230N and SP-2240N take paper from 27gsm to 413gsm, embossed plastic cards up to 1.4mm thick, and folded A3 sheets. The 80-sheet feeder and paper-protection sensor mean you can scan mixed batches without sorting them first.

What warranty do Ricoh scanners come with?

New Ricoh scanners come with a one-year manufacturer warranty. Extended warranty and service options are available on request. MoreCoCo has sold IT hardware to UK homes and businesses since 2003.
